I remember where I stood and what I was doing. I was seven months pregnant with my son Ben, standing in a children’s play park, pushing my older sons Thomas and James on the swings. We were on a family holiday at a caravan park.
No children played in the park the rest of that day. No laughing or noise came from the entertainment area or bar that day or evening.
Silence surrounded the world as people sat side by side and miles apart watching the horror enfold on the news.
And years later it is still difficult to comprehend. I will never understand how people can feel such hatred and wish such terror on humanity. I will always remember where I was and what I was doing on that day and I will not be the only one.
In a world that can be cruel, I choose to be kind.
